Overview

FAQs

Which free publications relate to specific LIS topics?

Overview

Elsevier Marketing Manager David Turney interviews Library Marketing Intern Risa Blumlein for a podcast about what she's learned during her time with Elsevier.

Elsevier's global Library Connect LIS Outreach Program offers complimentary resources to support LIS faculty, staff and students.

What's available through this program? Free online and print Library Connect publications; an annual library marketing internship with Elsevier in California; international librarian residencies; and Elsevier experts who can speak to LIS classes.

Risa Blumlein, an MLIS student at San Jose State University, worked as a library marketing intern at Elsevier in San Diego during the summer of 2008. During her time with Elsevier, Risa served as section editor for the Library Connect Newsletter's new "Next Gen" section. To see that section, take a look at LCN, 6:3, when it's published in early August 2008 at External linkwww.elsevier.com/libraryconnect.

What's involved in the annual Library Connect Marketing Internship?

Running for 8 - 12 weeks and requiring 20 hours of onsite work per week, this summer / fall internship provides behind-the-scenes experience in publishing. This internship is based in San Diego, California, but undergraduate or graduate students enrolled at any university may apply. Interns provide their own housing while in San Diego. The pay is $15 per hour.

Each applicant needs to submit a cover letter and resume. Send documents, with "Lib Mktg Intern application" in the subject line, to sdhr@elsevier.com.
