A publisher-driven initiative, CrossRef is a free reference linking service that provides seamless integration of current and archived content across publishers. Researchers and healthcare professionals can click on a citation and link directly to the target content from any participating publisher platform. Elsevier is a founding partner.

Working with External link  Yale University Library and the Dutch national library, Koninklijke Bibliotheek (External link  KB), we have advanced key archival principles, adopting the Open Archival Information System (External link  OAIS) standards for preservation. Through the KB, we have established the first official digital archive of Elsevier journals ensuring the information we publish is permanently accessible.

External link  STIX (Scientific and Technical Information Exchange) Font Creation Project. The STIX Font Creation project is a collaborative effort by scientific publishers to develop a comprehensive set of fonts for mathematics and other special characters used in scientific, technical and medical publishing.
