Des Plaines, IL, September 5, 2006 —
Endeavor
Information Systems, one of the leading worldwide providers of library
management software, today announced the appointments of one director and two
managers within the company’s product management team. Endeavor’s Kathryn
Harnish and Mike Dicus were promoted to the positions of director of Product
Management and Voyager® product manager, respectively; and Char Chase was
introduced as the company’s new product manager for the Discovery suite of
products.
“These strategic additions to the product management team will all play vital
roles in the future success of our organization,” said Roland Dietz, president
and CEO at Endeavor Information Systems. “With an aggressive product release
schedule – including new versions of several of our core solutions planned for
2007 – I look forward to collaborating with these individuals, as their
insights and experience will prove invaluable in helping Endeavor maintain
this accelerated pace.”
Formerly the product manager for Endeavor’s Meridian™ ERM solution and
Analyzer™ reporting module, Kathryn Harnish will now serve as director of
Product Management. In this new position, Harnish’s management
responsibilities will span not only Meridian and Analyzer, but also the
Voyager suite of products, including the company’s flagship integrated library
system (ILS).
Harnish joined Endeavor in 1997 after gaining practical library experience
serving as an IT librarian and reference librarian at Knox College and the
University of Maryland. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Haverford
College and a Masters of Library Science degree from the University of
Pittsburgh.
As director of Product Management, Harnish will supervise a team of product
managers, including the new product manager for Voyager, Mike Dicus.
An Endeavor employee since 2001, Dicus joins the company’s product management
team after distinguishing himself in a variety of roles. Previously, he spent
more than 15 years working in a series of increasingly responsible positions
in both public and university libraries, serving as an assistant, associate
and reference librarian, as well as a library director.
Dicus earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Eastern
Illinois University, a Master of Science degree in Library and Information
Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from
Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
Beginning his career at Endeavor as a training consultant, Dicus has also
served as a product specialist and sales manager, focused on educating
Endeavor customers and prospects about the company’s Voyager, Analyzer and
Meridian solutions.
Dicus looks forward to strengthening relationships with existing Voyager
customers while promoting the software’s diverse capabilities at industry
tradeshows, panel discussions and online seminars. He also anticipates a
proactive relationship with the members of several customer groups and
committees that provide Endeavor with valuable feedback regarding their
interaction and experience with Voyager.
In July, Char Chase joined Endeavor’s Product Management group. As product
manager for the company’s suite of digital library management products, Char
directs the product management efforts for: Discovery: Finder™, Endeavor’s
federated search offering; Discovery: Resolver™, Endeavor’s Open URL link
resolving solution; and Remote IT Services (RITS), Endeavor’s hosted software
solution.
Chase brings more than 15 years of software product management experience to
this position. Prior to joining Endeavor, she held increasingly responsible
product management positions with GTE, MCI, Covia and Lucent Technologies. At
these organizations, Chase brought new products and services to market, helped
develop end user interfaces and managed teams as large as 30 people.
Most recently, Chase served as senior product manager at Intrado Inc. where
her responsibilities included managing more than $60 million in software
products and services related to emergency 911 services. She is a graduate of
St. Mary’s College of Notre Dame, where she earned a BA in Sociology and
Psychology. Later Chase earned an MBA from Dominican University with a
specialty in Marketing.
Chase and Dicus will both be based at Endeavor’s headquarters in Des Plaines,
IL. Harnish will split time between Des Plaines and a regional office in New
England.
